Our client, an independent 3rd party claims administration company, is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to join their team! This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity with the potential to extend. Initially, this role will be part time (16-30 hours per week) and building into full time hours over the first few weeks. This is a Work-From-Home opportunity- should have a private, dedicated work-from-home space.

Our client is ranked top in the country and considered a premier claims administration organization. They are rapidly expanding. Currently, they are 500 employees with growth plans to exceed 1,000 within a year.

They specialize in Personal and Commercial claims in areas such as general and professional liability, property and casualty, workers’ compensation, Construction, Transportation, Environmental, Agriculture,  Personal Lines, Public Entity and more.

They are headquartered in Lake Mary, Florida with a 100% work from home model.

Job Summary:?
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of business intelligence interfaces. The BI developer works with various business units to identify organizational problems and applies their expertise to deliver reporting and dashboard solutions tailored to their needs. The BI developer implements creative approaches to transform complex datasets into accessible information for the end user to make decisions and answer business questions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision making, efficiency and performance.
  • Collaborate with end users to understand their requirements and assist in the development of reporting and dashboarding solutions.
  • Provide support to ensure availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users.
  • Evaluate existing business intelligence systems for improvements and optimization.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot data quality workflows or data quality issues, and proactively communicate issues to team to assist in managing defects.
  • Perform analysis of data quality issues within reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle: analysis, design, coding, testing and promotion to production
  • Communicate regularly with IT to ensure database integrity and optimized performance at the application and database levels.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years hands on experience with report development and functional dashboards based using various tools (DOMO, AWS QuickSight, Power BI, SSRS, Crystal, Tableau, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in data warehouse design and modelling according to established standards.
  • High level of skill with data querying languages (SQL, R, etc.)
  • Knowledge of programming standards and integration between applications
  • Experience in designing and building lists, crosstabs, graphs, scorecards, metrics, filters, prompts, standard reports, and dashboards.
  • Experience scripting languages for automation of administrative tasks (PowerShell, VBScript, PERL, etc.).
  • Experience with different databases and data sources such as but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server 2012/2016, AWS RDS.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge in working with relational and multidimensional database schemas and writing queries.
  • Perform analysis, design, development, validation, and implementation of reports. Ability to analyze data issues within reports.
  • Experience implementing systems and minimum knowledge using the Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Experience using leading cloud platform providers (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, VMWare).
  • Participation in the full software development life cycle: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, and promotion into Production.
  • Technical proficiency including systems maintenance, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, monitoring, performance measurements, change management as well as issue management in a multi-platform environment.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in process documentation and improvement.
  • Knowledge of Cloud, security, infrastructure, databases, and networking preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and proper workflow design and exception management a plus.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and claims a plus.

Technical Skills:
  • Must have 2+ years of DOMO experience
  • Must have 3+ Tableau and SQL experience
  • AWS experience is a PLUS
  • Must have experience optimizing data sources
  • Must have experience creating dashboards
  • Must have full lifecycle experience: Design, Develop and Implement BI solutions
  • Insurance Industry experience highly preferred
