AWS/DevOps Engineer (Engineering Team) On-site a few times a month in Conshohocken, PA or Detroit, MI 6-month Contract to Hire **W2 Rates ONLY - MUST be eligible for hire without sponsorship**
Our client, a growing, innovative technology solutions company is seeking a AWS DevOps Engineer to grow their team! This position is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity. This is a HYBRID role, candidates can reside in the Philadelphia Region or in the Detroit Region. Candidates will be required to go onsite a few times per month. Summary: The Senior AWS DeVops Engineer will require in-depth expertise in cloud infrastructure, tool migrations, and the implementation of IaC practices. This role is pivotal in optimizing and streamlining our cloud infrastructure, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring scalability for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, expand, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Terragrunt, ensuring consistent and reliable infrastructure deployments.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures within AWS.
Assist in the migration from JFrog Artifactory to ECR/CodeArtifact, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption.
Advance the transition from Bitbucket to GitHub, including repository migration, workflow optimizations, and integrating with AWS services.
Lead the transition to Aurora for PostgreSQL, ensuring safe data migration and optimized database operations.
Build and support CI/CD pipelines and implement GitHub workflows/actions.
Regularly review cloud solutions with a pragmatic lens, considering reliability, cost, security, and future growth.
Qualifications:
5+ years of Cloud Engineering/Infrastructure experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container orchestration platforms.
Deep knowledge of AWS services including RDS/Aurora, S3, SNS, SQS, EC2, IAM, Load balancing, Networking, and WAF.
Proven expertise in disaster recovery procedures in cloud environments.
Strong proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt.
Demonstrated experience in implementing cost controls in cloud environments.
Scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.
Track record of implementations that reduced overhead for development, deployment, monitoring, and platform services support.
Advanced skills with Git and GitHub, including workflows and actions.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with financial services industry compliance and infrastructure controls.
Candidates Must have:
Must have strong IaC (Infrastructure as a Service)
Must have strong Kubernetes experience:
Must have strong AWS and Terraforms experience
Must have strong CI/CD Pipeline creation and deployment experience
Must have GitHub experience
Must have Disaster Recovery experience (DR)
JFrog is a nice to have
Preferred Skills:
Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, NewRelic, or Dynatrace.
