Role: Workday Systems Manager Location: 100% REMOTE (US-based, must work EST) Type: Contract-to-hire (converts to perm after 6 months)
Overview: Our client, a national mortgage company, is seeking a Workday Systems Manager to lead their team of Workday Engineers. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity and is 100% REMOTE.
Summary: As the Workday Systems Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the technical aspects of our Workday implementation, ensuring the optimal system functionality and integration. This role requires excellent technical skills with a passion for delivering the best possible results, all while ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of Workday projects. Must have a proven track record of success in leading complex Workday implementations and managing cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical configuration, customization, and maintenance of the Workday system.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
Design, implement, and manage integrations between Workday and other systems, ensuring seamless data flow.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
Manage Workday security protocols and configurations to ensure data privacy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Conduct regular audits to identify and address potential security risks.
Stay informed about Workday updates and new features, evaluating their impact on our organization.
Plan and execute system upgrades, working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Provide technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the IT helpdesk to escalate and manage complex technical problems.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for configurations, customizations, and integrations.
Develop training materials and conduct sessions to empower end-users with Workday technical knowledge.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT leaders to align Workday strategies with overall business objectives.
Lead a team of technical professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has 4 direct reports.
Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The breakdown of their role will be:
20-30% Hands on in Workday with various modules with Integration and Configuration tasks
20% Solutioning and Strategizing with the Business Groups and the Product Team to refine and execute the roadmap
10-15% Analyzing the current state of the platform to develop a plan for improvements
40-45% Coaching and training up a team of Workday Developers – people management/guidance and leadership of the team and helping them to elevate their technical skills is critical
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
8-10 years of extensive experience in Workday implementation, configuration, and support.
Strong understanding of Workday modules such as HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits and Absence.
Proven experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, and calculated field
In-depth knowledge of Workday security, compliance, and data protection.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must haves:
In-depth hands on knowledge of workday through security platform administration, recruitment, and leadership skills
Need someone who is very hands-on not someone who wants to delegate
Strong understanding of Workday modules such as HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits and Absence.
Will need to know configurations and integrations in Workday
