Overview:

Our client, a technology product development and solutions company in the mortgage space, is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to join their existing team! This is a Contract to hire role and 100% REMOTE!

Summary:
The Principal Data Scientist is responsible for identifying valuable data sources and automating collection processes. Builds predictive models and machine learning algorithms that could increase ROI for specific client use cases. Analyzes large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns related to client data.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead and oversee the design, development, and implementation of data science solutions using advanced statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to identify business objectives, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable data science projects.
  • Utilize your expertise to architect and build scalable data solutions, ensuring optimal data storage, integration, and accessibility.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and uncover hidden patterns, trends, and correlations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AWS technologies, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance existing models and processes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
 
Education and/or Experience:
  • Requires expert job knowledge obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • 7 + years’ experience.
  • Experience as Lead Data Scientist.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Excellent Collaboration skills.
  • Extensive experience with statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics techniques.
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake, and AWS services, including but not limited to S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Redshift, and SageMaker.
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong math skills (e.g., statistics, algebra).
  • Pattern and Trend Recognition.
