This is a long term contract opportunity and HYBRID in New York City. Candidates must be able to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. ??
Job Summary:?? ?The role of Sr. UX Designer must be a senior researcher with the ability to plan, execute, and synthesize a variety of testing types, including usability testing, surveys, NPS, moderated and unmoderated testing, tree sorting, diary studies, focus groups, and more. Familiarity with user testing platforms such as UserTesting, Maze, and dscout is essential.
Responsibilities:??
? Research Planning and Execution:
Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
Utilize a range of methodologies, including usability testing, surveys, NPS, tree sorting, diary studies, and focus groups.
Plan and manage endto-end research projects, from recruitment and planning to execution and analysis.
Data Analysis and Synthesis:
Analyze data to identify usability issues and uncover thematic patterns that can improve our product usability.
Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
Present research findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
Problem Identification and Solution Recommendation:
Clearly define usability problems and recommend evidencebased solutions to enhance user experience.
Collaborate with product designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure research findings are integrated into product design and development.
Understanding Human Behavior:
Apply principles of human psychology to inform research analysis and recommendations.
Use empathy and an understanding of human behavior to interpret research data and suggest usercentric improvements.
Research Methodology Development:
Develop and coordinate various quantitative and qualitative research methods to enhance the overall user experience of our products.
Continuously explore and adopt new research methodologies and tools to improve the research process
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with crossfunctional teams to integrate research findings into the product development lifecycle.
Advocate for the user and ensure that research insights are effectively communicated and acted upon.
Strategic Thinking:
Understand that usability research encompasses more than just usability testing and includes all aspects of user experience.
Utilize strategic thinking to build research into the project plan and assess the value of different ideas and approaches.
Continuous Improvement:
Constantly ask the right questions to gather as much data as possible to shape the usability of our products.
Seek opportunities to improve research processes and outcomes continuously.
Tool Proficiency:
Proficient in using various user research and testing platforms such as UserTesting, Maze, dscout, and others.
Familiar with data analysis tools and software to synthesize and interpret research data.
Reporting and Documentation:
Document research processes, methodologies, and findings in a clear and organized manner.
Create comprehensive research reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:?
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Design, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in UX research, usability testing, or a related field, with a proven track record of conducting and managing qualitative and quantitative research studies.
Strong understanding and experience with various research methodologies including usability testing, surveys, NPS, tree sorting, diary studies, and focus groups.
Ability to develop and coordinate various quantitative and qualitative research methods to enhance the overall user experience.
Knowledge of human psychology principles to inform research analysis and recommendations, and using empathy to interpret research data.
