We’re seeking a Prompt Engineer to join our fast-growing fintech technology company, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how generative AI is used across our Illuminate applications and financial platforms. You will design, optimize, and maintain high-performing prompts that power advanced AI systems, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and an exceptional user experience across our global digital products.

This is a highly cross-functional role where technical expertise meets creativity. You’ll collaborate with developers, product managers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams to craft effective prompt strategies that meet business objectives, support regulatory compliance, and deliver real-time value to users.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, refine, and maintain prompts in English for LLM-based systems (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini).
• Analyze production metrics and customer feedback to identify opportunities for prompt improvement and innovation.
• Debug and optimize prompts to improve AI responsiveness, reduce bias, and ensure high-quality, contextually accurate outputs.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and professional services teams to implement prompt-based solutions for both standard and custom use cases.
• Support the full prompt lifecycle—from research and experimentation to deployment, documentation, and review.
• Create test strategies for generative AI systems not suited to traditional QA tools; contribute to AI performance testing using frameworks like DeepEval and PyTest.
• Share insights through clear, data-backed reports and performance metrics.
• Maintain a central prompt library and best practices documentation; provide training to internal teams as needed.
• Stay current with evolving LLM capabilities, industry best practices, and emerging frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, griptape, etc.).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Linguistics, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in AI, NLP, or tech-focused roles, with at least 1 year directly related to prompt engineering or LLMs.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with prototyping tools (e.g., Streamlit, Flask).
• Familiarity with prompt engineering strategies across major LLMs (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in data-driven environments.
• Clear communicator with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
• Comfortable working remotely with global teams across multiple time zones.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fintech, regulated industries, or AI for financial applications.
• Exposure to containerized development (e.g., Docker), microservice deployment, and AWS resource management.
• Experience using AI testing frameworks (e.g., DeepEval).
• Certifications in AI/ML (e.g., TensorFlow, AWS Certified Machine Learning, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer) are a plus.
