Job Title: AI Developer
 

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an AI Developer to join our client to support the design and deployment of computer vision and machine learning solutions that drive real-time image-based transaction processing. This role will focus on Optical Character Recognition (OCR) initiatives, blending advanced model development with scalable system integration. Based in Middletown, PA, this is a contract position with a hybrid schedule—primarily remote with onsite work required several times per month. The AI Developer will work cross-functionally with architecture, DevOps, and database teams to deliver innovative, production-ready solutions that ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
 

Compensation:
$72 – $76 per hour
 

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
 

Key Responsibilities of the AI Developer:
• Design, implement, and refine machine learning and computer vision models, including OCR pipelines, object detection, and image classification.
• Develop production-ready Python code using strong object-oriented principles and scalable software design practices.
• Integrate AI components into distributed system architectures in collaboration with architects, DevOps, and database teams.
• Optimize algorithms and workflows to meet real-time performance needs for large-scale transaction processing.
• Contribute to system-level planning, documentation, and technical standards to ensure maintainability, scalability, and compliance.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and project sponsors to align AI initiatives with business objectives and operational requirements.
 

Qualifications and Skills for the AI Developer:
• Proven expertise in Python programming and object-oriented software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with image processing tools (e.g., OpenCV, Pillow) and machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Background in OCR technologies (Tesseract, PaddleOCR, EasyOCR, or custom models).
• Knowledge of computer vision techniques including classification, feature extraction, and object detection (YOLO, Faster R-CNN, SSD, etc.).
• Strong understanding of clean code, design patterns, and testable architectures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Azure DevOps testing modules.
• A bachelor’s degree in business management, information systems, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
