Job Title: Senior Elixir Developer
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Elixir Developer to join our client to help design and optimize highly scalable, distributed systems that power large-scale, real-time data processing. This role involves building fault-tolerant applications that can handle billions of data entities, ensuring high availability and performance across a dynamic architecture. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Elixir and distributed computing while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions. This is a remote, direct hire position offering an exciting opportunity to shape critical engineering decisions that impact system design and reliability.
Compensation:
$140,000 – $170,000 annually
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch break)
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Elixir Developer:
• Architect and implement distributed systems designed to scale seamlessly and perform reliably across billions of data points.
• Lead the design, development, and optimization of Elixir-based applications to ensure performance, scalability, and zero-downtime deployments.
• Drive improvements in system architecture, making key tradeoff decisions regarding consistency, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to automate testing, identify performance bottlenecks, and enhance continuous deployment pipelines.
• Contribute to broader engineering initiatives and support additional development needs as part of a lean, collaborative team.
Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Elixir Developer:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in software development with proven expertise in Elixir/BEAM environments.
• Strong understanding of GraphQL and its integration within large-scale systems.
• Experience with distributed architectures, real-time data processing, and zero-downtime deployment strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
• Previous experience building mobile or marketplace applications is a plus.
