Job Title: Lead Application & Cloud Security Engineer

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Lead Application & Cloud Security Engineer to join our client to help drive the secure design, development, and deployment of applications across cloud and containerized environments. This role, based in Marlton, NJ, is a hybrid opportunity on a temporary-to-hire basis, focused on enhancing the security posture of enterprise applications while collaborating closely with development teams. The engineer will lead a small security team, guide remediation efforts, and implement best practices in cloud, application, and AI security. The position emphasizes hands-on engagement with vulnerability analysis, DevSecOps processes, and security tooling to achieve organizational milestones.

Compensation:
$72.00/hour

Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Application & Cloud Security Engineer:

• Lead and mentor a small team of security engineers, fostering collaboration between development and security functions.
• Assess and enhance the security posture of applications and cloud environments through vulnerability analysis, risk reporting, and remediation guidance.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, supporting tooling adoption, scripting, and containerized environments such as Docker.
• Develop dashboards, flow charts, and roadmaps to provide visibility into security initiatives, including AI security exploration.
• Participate in incident management, proof-of-concept evaluations, and achievement of security milestones aligned with the CISO roadmap.

Qualifications and Skills for the Lead Application & Cloud Security Engineer:

• 7+ years of combined experience in software development and security, with proven leadership of small teams.
• Hands-on expertise in application security, cloud security, DevSecOps, vulnerability analysis, and CI/CD integration.
• Proficiency with tools and frameworks such as Java, SonarQube, AWS Security, Docker, and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with incident management, security dashboards, roadmaps, and emerging AI security practices.
• Security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Security+, CISSP, or CEH are advantageous but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
