Key Responsibilities of the Sr. Performance Engineer:
- Lead full?cycle performance engineering activities, including requirements gathering, workload modeling, KPI/SLA definition, and performance strategy planning.
- Design and execute performance tests using enterprise tools—primarily LoadRunner Enterprise—and assess outcomes through AI?driven analytics, observability platforms, and diagnostics solutions.
- Build and maintain performance automation within CI/CD pipelines, enabling repeatable, scalable test execution across cloud environments.
- Investigate system performance across applications, APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud?native services to deliver tuning recommendations, baselines, and root?cause reports.
- Partner with cross?functional groups—Development, QA, Architecture, SRE, Product—to support resiliency initiatives, scalability validation, and chaos engineering activities.
Qualifications and Skills for the Sr. Performance Engineer:
- Strong background in performance engineering and performance test engineering, including hands?on scripting with LoadRunner Enterprise; experience with JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or K6 is beneficial.
- Familiarity with cloud performance patterns (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including autoscaling, distributed workloads, and native monitoring tools such as CloudWatch or Azure Monitor.
- Proficiency with APM platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, or Grafana to support deep?dive troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating performance testing within CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps; ability to work with APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, and TrueClient protocol testing.
- Background in diagnostics, capacity planning, resilience testing, and performance reporting; finance or mortgage industry exposure and mobile testing are pluses.
