Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our client in a contract role supporting their technology operations. This fully remote position, aligned to CST business hours, will focus on building, optimizing, and supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud infrastructure while ensuring security, reliability, and performance across enterprise systems.
Work Schedule:
• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (40 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer:
• Lead the design and administration of Microsoft SharePoint environments.
• Manage Teams Voice and other cloud-based voice communication platforms.
• Automate daily operations through scripting in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Proactively monitor system performance and availability using SolarWinds and other tools.
• Serve as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting of cloud and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation, procedures, and change logs.
• Apply best practices for Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and resource optimization.
• Partner with DevOps and security teams on cloud architecture and process improvements.
• Support Azure services and infrastructure, including identity and access integrations (AD, LDAP, SSO).
Qualifications and Skills for the Systems Engineer:
• 4+ years of professional experience in systems engineering with a focus on cloud technologies.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Strong background working with Azure and additional cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Skilled in Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience supporting large-scale, enterprise, or multi-tenant environments.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with knowledge of change management practices.
• Familiarity with security and compliance requirements for cloud environments.
