Job Title: Information Governance Manager

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Information Governance Manager to join our client to help drive a secure, compliant, and efficient records and information management program across the organization. This direct-hire role is based onsite in Philadelphia, PA and focuses on strengthening how physical and digital information is classified, retained, retrieved, protected, and disposed of in alignment with regulatory and business requirements. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders, IT, compliance/legal stakeholders, and third-party vendors to evolve governance strategy, improve processes, and increase adoption through training and change management.

Compensation:
$120,000/year plus performance bonus

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Information Governance Manager:

  • Lead the end-to-end Records & Information Management (RIM) program by establishing governance standards, maintaining a centralized inventory, and ensuring consistent lifecycle practices (retention, retrieval, disposition, and continuous improvement).
  • Oversee the protection of sensitive information across physical and electronic formats by strengthening security controls, access practices, and handling procedures to reduce risk and support compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees at all levels by providing clear guidance on proper record creation, storage, transmission, legal/regulatory retention, and defensible disposal practices.
  • Develop and execute a firmwide information governance strategy by assessing stakeholder needs, monitoring industry trends, identifying gaps, and translating findings into practical action plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage RIM technology operations and adoption by partnering with IT on platform administration and usage standards, providing user support, and coordinating with third-party vendors to resolve issues, workflows, and invoicing.
  • Deliver training and change management initiatives by building a scalable RIM training program, reinforcing expectations with key stakeholders, and promoting program value through reporting, ROI messaging, and performance dashboards.
  • Support information governance controls such as legal holds and ethical wall processes by collaborating with compliance/legal leadership and assisting with file onboarding, transfers, and governance documentation.
  • Coordinate periodic visits to additional office locations to evaluate physical records, support orderly file closures, and oversee destruction activities aligned with retention requirements.

Qualifications and Skills for the Information Governance Manager:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within records and information management, including supervision, coaching, and training of staff.
  • Background supporting a professional services environment (e.g., legal or similar highly regulated setting), with experience overseeing records operations and governance workflows.
  • Working knowledge of best practices for retaining, organizing, securing, and producing both digital content and physical media (paper records, removable storage, and other tangible materials).
  • Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise RIM or content/records management platforms and the ability to define practical usage standards that drive adoption.
  • Strong project and workflow management skills with a demonstrated ability to improve processes, track KPIs, and deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes under shifting priorities.
  • Confident communicator with a service-focused mindset—able to build alignment, influence stakeholders, and explain strategy in a way that drives consistency and compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and comfort producing clear reports, dashboards, and stakeholder-ready documentation.
  • Associate degree required (preferably aligned to IT, library science, records/information management, or a related discipline); CRM certification preferred, and equivalent advanced experience is valued.
  • Ability to handle physical and electronic collections, including occasional lifting up to 40 pounds, and willingness to travel to multiple office locations as needed.
