Job Title: Virtual CIO
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Virtual CIO to join our client to help drive strategic technology direction and strengthen executive client partnerships across a portfolio of accounts. This onsite role in Minneapolis focuses on translating business goals into actionable technology plans that improve performance, reduce risk, and support growth. The position plays a key role in guiding leadership discussions, developing long range roadmaps, and ensuring successful execution through cross functional collaboration. Success in this role is defined by measurable improvements in alignment, client satisfaction, and project momentum.

Key Responsibilities of the Virtual CIO:

• Guide executive level client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor and leading structured business reviews that align technology with organizational goals
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technology roadmaps that prioritize initiatives based on impact, risk, and available budget while ensuring timely execution
• Translate strategic plans into clear project recommendations with defined business cases, then partner with internal teams to move initiatives forward
• Monitor client environments for alignment to standards, security posture, and compliance readiness, ensuring gaps are addressed through planned improvements
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and account teams to coordinate resources, support solution delivery, and maintain a consistent pipeline of strategic initiatives

Qualifications and Skills for the Virtual CIO:

• Prior experience in a strategic, client facing IT leadership role such as CIO, vCIO, or senior technology consultant with the ability to influence executive decisions
• Demonstrated success creating technology roadmaps, building business cases, and converting strategy into funded and executed initiatives
• Strong understanding of infrastructure, security, and risk concepts with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non technical audiences
• Proven communication and relationship management skills with confidence leading meetings and facilitating executive level discussions
• Familiarity with platforms such as CRM systems, PSA tools, or documentation solutions, along with a degree in a related field or equivalent experience
